Care Net Pregnancy Services of the Treasure Coast is a not-for-profit organization/ministry; employees and volunteers are professing Christians, however, the purpose of the ministry is to serve all who are in need of the free services offered, no matter their religious, or non-religious beliefs. Care Net empowers and equips women facing difficult circumstances with the knowledge to make educated life choices.

From the moment I set foot in the reception area of the Port St. Lucie Center, I felt love in the air – the kind of love that puts all who enter their doors at ease, due to an environment of compassion, support, and kindness. The first woman I met on my visit to the center, was Marion, a volunteer of ten-years; she is one of the welcoming, volunteer receptionists at the Port St. Lucie location. When asked what inspired her to volunteer for Care Net, she replied, “I was looking for something meaningful I can do”. Marion was a joy to meet, and I hope for the sake of this exceptional resource in our community, more Christians consider serving as volunteers at Care Net.

Volunteering is a tremendous way to put love into action. Sue Chess, a woman with a heart as big as Florida, and a trained nurse, volunteered for one year before accepting the position of Executive Director. Sue oversees both the Port St. Lucie, and the Stuart location; both centers offer volunteers the opportunity to put their skill, calling, passion, and good-will toward others, into action.

Care Net of the Treasure Coast is inclusive, offering free services to both women, and men. Kevin Pierce oversees support services for men, from fatherhood coaching/classes, to counseling men grieving the loss of fatherhood. A synopsis of the free services offered to all in need, include:

  • 24-hour helpline

  • FREE Pregnancy Tests

  • Education on all pregnancy options

  • Confidential education on sexually transmitted diseases

  • Parenting Classes

  • HIV/Aids Tests

  • Community referrals for aid

  • Fatherhood Support Group

  • C.A.R.E. (Confidential Abortion Recovery Experience), for men and women: call (772) 249-2473 or email us at 249.c4re@gmail.com

The following need for volunteers do not require training: The Clothing Boutique (baby items), help with events/fund raisers, and bulk mails/newsletter.

Understandably, training is extensive for the following positions: Receptionist, Peer Counselor, Nurse, Physician, Sonographer.

The numerous free services offered require a team of dedicated volunteers in order to keep the doors of this invaluable 501 (c) non-profit organization open. Looking for something meaningful to do with your time? Do you have a heart for helping women and men facing difficult circumstances? If you sense the prompting, consider volunteering at Care Net Pregnancy Services of the Treasure Coast; a place to put love in action, and where lives are transformed.
